We are excited to announce these forthcoming events.
LiLo is constituted by participation, so no matter what we say or write about LiLo, it will not capture it: it is only in the co-participitative experience.
Currently, LiLo primarily organises events for its Associates, but if you are feeling drawn to participating, then please get in touch and let us know more about you and your interests.

July 11-12, 2026: Open Days – Manifesto(ing) III
The 2026 Open days are focused on the co-construction of a LiLo Manifesto(ing) — an ongoing attempt to articulate the foundations, motivations, and reasons for “being/becoming LiLo.” It is organised around a guiding question:
Why do we need systems of knowledge production grounded in values (and experiences of) Wisdom, Beauty, Love and Justice, embedded in transformative fabrics of relations — and what difference can they make in supporting the emergence and cultivation of worlds worth living in?
In our March and May Open Days, we explored modes, languages, and metaphors for the process of building the Manifesto(ing) itself — attending to the HOW. We built from our lived experiences to ground the manifest and we explored the core of our motivations: WHY does this matter and to whom? WHAT should the Manifesto(ing) hold and communicate? And FOR WHOM might it matter beyond ourselves?
This July, we look outward and across — and simultaneously, more deeply inward. We ask also: WHO ELSE, WHERE ELSE? Across research traditions, civic and professional practices, and other forms of organised life — who has advocated, enacted, or inhabited kindred commitments to the role of experiences of Wisdom, Beauty, Justice and Love in how we create knowledge? WHAT experiences can illustrate what we aim to communicate? And HOW EXACTLY do we bring it all together into a first composition of the Manifesto(ing).
Note: This event will work with pre-sessional contributions (please read the details and links in the programme. Your contributions, even if you are not attending the event, are an important way of participating)

- INVITATIONS: This event is for LiLo Associates or for their invited guests, who would participate as Visitor Associates*. If you know an Associate, you can ask for them to invite you(!), or if you are interested in participating but have no existing links to LiLo, or its Associates, then please send an expression of interest by email to lilo.institute.web@gmail.com.

In this workshop, participants will be invited to listen to narratives from distinct indigenous knowledge communities. They will then translate one of the narratives into a form of expression of their own choosing — a text, poem, drawing, movement, or anything else. The resulting translations become the basis for a collective dialogue about what is lost — and what is gained — in the passage between cultures and knowledge systems

October 2-4, 2026: LiLo 2 – Our Annual Event
This is the key event of the year for reflexively (co) becoming and shaping LiLo. We will retrospectively explore the process and outcomes of our activities in 2026, finding patterns and relevant themes and drawing on our experiences to create new knowings together. We will shape how we want to move together in 2027, contributing towards our annual planning.
This will be an event across 3 days; On Friday afternoon (Lisbon time), we will open a space for offerings from Associates, or invited Guests, an opportunity to show/tell/listen/invite/ or bring contributions for internal reflections for LiLo´s organisation and activities.
The weekend will offer a mix of embodied activities, dialogical forms, reflexive spaces, and planning ahead…
