July 1st 2025, saw our first General Assembly.

In this meeting we:

• reviewed and agreed our Internal Regulations (the operational dimensions of our constitution)
• discussed various specific areas requiring detailed and separate regulations
• appointed officers and delegates to our various governing bodies.
• agreed our fees for initial admission and for annual membership

This represents the key step in making LiLo a legal entity in Portugal, and providing a platform for our community and activities.

This kind of organisational, procedural stuff is necessary, but – in the midst of it – it can be easy to start losing sight of what we envisaged, when we started the journey.

The image accompanying this post is from our LiLo_0 event on October 21, 2023 – our first event which took place in the “LiLo House” (more on this to come) – when we invited a group of people (friends, colleagues, young, not-so-young, more-than-human etc) that we had approached with the vision of LiLo. In the meeting, we presented a sketch of LiLo, emphasising its embedding within the core values of Wisdom, Beauty, Love & Justice (“wubble-ju”).

During the meeting, we invited everyone to co-construct a mural representing individual participants’ visions of LiLo. Using a collection of curated and found materials, we observed our individual contributions gradually building connections, with a tree-like structure emerging in 3 dimensions.

That was a day full of open hearts and minds, of collaboration and trust, and of a dynamic individual ~ collective creative co-manifestation of visions, full of hope and possibility.

Almost 2 years later, we are now creating the platform on which we hope to realise some of these hopes and possibilities…

We must be mindful of distinguishing the current concerns of the (necessary, mandatory) machinery, and steer our attention and intention back towards our vision, our aims, and the realisation of their possibilities.
